The LPA Board of Directors has discussed the idea of selling the downtown Baton Rouge building through the years. During COVID, the LPA moved to a hybrid work model of working from home and the office and has continued that model since.
In 2022, the LPA Board authorized putting the building on the market. The LPA building officially sold in early February, and is renting the building it purchased in the 1990s as it transitions to its next location.
"The new location better fits our current working model, resources and plans for us moving forward," said Jerry Raehal, the advertising director of LPA Marketing.
The Louisiana Press Association was formed in 1880 as a trade association uniting the state's daily and weekly newspapers. As its members have transformed so has the LPA, focused on educating, advocating and innovating in print and digital platforms.
LPA Marketing was established in the 1940s as a department of the Louisiana Press Association. What started as a print placement service in the 1940s has transformed into a limited marketing agency with full digital capabilities today. LPA Marketing works with regional, state and national businesses and agencies who are trying to reach local audiences at scale.
